The Unstoppable

Ray started officially walking today.....and as parents, this is an extremely important milestone as we will be expecting more troubles as this little adventurer set his feet forward. He is simply unstoppable.

With his left arm stretched out, we thought initially that he wanted us to hold his hand. But the moment we held his hand, he swinged it free and after a few tries, we realised he was using his left arm to balance.

Err...dont ask me abt he is saying, all i know the louder he screamed, the faster he went.

Renovation Home Sweet Home

We bought our first apartment in Year 2004 and we spent minimum renovating it as we were going away to Abu Dhabi for 18 months as pa pa mui was posted to there to work.

This is the Theatre room where we had so many DVD nights with friends and families. Watching our favourite movies like Driven and Gladigator.

With the new addtional of Ray, everything has been kept to a minmum fearing that he might bum into this and that. Alot of furnitures were turning into displays.

The balcony was the reason why we bought this place and its also the reason why we are renovating cos Ray is spending way too much time out there.

The renovation should take abt 6 weeks and we shall update again with the new look soon.

09 May 2009

I have been juggling work, a mom, a wife and a housewife for a good few months now. So far i am quite impressed with myself, except for the occassion dust on the bedside tables and windows. Not forgetting the dirt under the table and of cos under the sofa too.....i wonder how my mom managed to raise 4 children in the past.

Ray is starting to move around now, so it is extremely dangerous that he might just pull something off the table or even curtains etc. So we have to keep him within sight. So when i cooked, i put him into his cot and dragged him to the kitchen as he watched me perform my culinary skills.

And when he gets bored...he entertain by throwing stuff out...and the best part is...watching me throw it back to him.

First Attempt To Walk - 14 months

Ray has started to show sign of wanting to walk independently. And tonight he show case his ability by taking a few small steps, just to have a feel. Both pa pa mui and i were both excited, almost brimming with tears. Our Ray is finally going to walk!! The above is him attempting to stand without any assistance.

Above is his 2nd attempt at walking....getting there! A mere 3 seconds and see how many steps he has walked. He will be a runner in no time....kekeke.

First Holiday - Star Cruise

It has been a long long time since we went on a holiday. So we decided to try out on a cruise and let Ray spend some time with his grandparents, dai pak and pak leong and of cos...to celebrate ma ma mui's birthday.

What is cruise without good food right? So the moment we checked into our room, we gathered and ventured off to find food.

We got the room with balcony as we have never stay in one before and they were doing promotion. Look at Ray and how he is enjoying the vast sea.

And of cos...the pool!! Look at the father and son having fun. Ok not so fun cos Ray was dying to get into the pool but pa pa mui insisted on the pictures first. Thats why Ray was looking so vexed.

Of cos the highlight of this 2D2N cruise was my birthday celebration. Pa pa mui ordered a cake specially made for me on the cruise as part of the birthday celebration as a surprise for me.

Oh....i am 1 year older again

The Gift Of Love

We were cracking our brains trying to decide what to buy Ray as his first birthday. Something that would last.....something meaningful, something that he can hold and look at when he grows older. That is when we decided on a silver spoon from Tiffany. You can never be too young to have something from Tiffany.

Here's Ray checking his new gift out....

And the finished product after we got it engraved.

We believe that this spoon will bring him happy memories and that he will always be happy.

Crazy Family

We are getting insane....from what? Every weekend, we searched high and low for clothes that we can coordinate with Ray, may it be color, stripes etc. It has become a habit for both ma ma and pa pa mui.

I was quite appalled with the dressing alike idea, but since having Ray, it has given me a new prospective...like telling pple that we are a family. But.....i still get people asking me if ray is a boy or gal.....even when he is dressed in BLUE!!

Who cares really, it has been 12 months already so i have given up being upset when pple said he is a gal. He is my baby anyway.

Private Party - Actual Birthday

Last year today, we met Ray in the delivery suite. He didnt cry and appeared to be sleeping when he was brought into the world. My lazy bum....nothing can wake him up from his nap.

A year later, we witnessed his growth. From a crying baby to a whining one. Who knows how to use his cuteness to get things done and knowing that he can get away with things. The only person who refused to subduced to his charm is ME!! Ok ok....i lied, there have been moments when i let in too. Like the experts say, u can never spoil the baby enough.

Today, we had a small celebration at home and Ray got to open all his birthday presents that he got from his last party.

Thank you all for your well wishes and presents. Knowing that your presents will bring Ray many moments of joy.

Ray's 1st Birthday

Today marks an extremely important day for all of us. Ray is ONE today (just 4 days short to be extact). My family as usual has all the tradition stuff line up for Ray. He needs to go over to have a ceremony where it apparently mark his profession in his future.

In this picture, u will see a calculator (accountant to be), a drumstick (foodie), ruler (lawyer), stethoscope (doctor), an egg (dont know why) and some longetivity noodles. Knowing Ray...the foodie, i was quite surehe will grab the drumstick. But the moment he was left on the floor, he literally jump at the egg!! He must be thinking that he left his favourite toy aka ball there. OK, so no verdict for his profession.

The real celebration started at 4.30pm as we organised a BBQ party for Ray and he invited all his cousins and friends to join him in this important milestone.

Here's father and son looking really excited abt the party....and they even made an effort to dress alike. And here's Ray entertaining his guests.

And of cos not birthday is completed without a cake!! Look at Ray and how happy he is looking....he must be thinking, just wait till i sink my teeth into that cake.

It has been a unbelievable year for us. From conceiving to giving birth and watching Ray grow and learning new stuff. He can clap his hands when being told. And when u say HELLO, he will put his hand on his ear, mimicking us making calls. And when u say NOSIY, he will put both his hands to his ears. All these are simple stuff that he amazes us everyday. I am so glad that the 3 of us are all coping well and staying sane.

To be able to see Ray's smile everyday is the greatest achievement in life.

First Pool Swim

We finally got the chance to hit the pool with Ray. Intitally we thought Ray might freaked out with the water. So we let him sat in the pool, slowly getting used to the temperature of the water.

But he was so comfortable in water then he couldnt take his eyes off it.

There was even moment when i caught Ray drinking water from the pool!!

And next he was having a smashing time with the water that we even kept away from him and just watched from a distance.

Afterwards, he flashed us this cheeky smile, a smile that say....."Now u know i am good" smile.

Attention!! (11 Months)

Ray has started to learn how to stand up with the support of furniture and he is so good at it that he has started to climb onto the TV console as well.

This video was taken under the supervision of us. In this house, we believe in supervised freedom. Human rights is STRONG in this house. Hahahaha....

PS: Sorry abt the angle though.

As Ray begins to "walk" with the help of furnitures, we have more worries to come....but we all know the famous saying "No Pain, No Gain" so i guess a few falls here and there will strengthen Ray and better prepare him for anything in future.

07 March 2009

Playgroup AGAIN!!

They said...three is a crowd....i said three is a handful!! Today, Ray invited 2 of his friends over for some chill out time. They are Narisa and Devon!!

Its really hard to get a decent pic of them, one moment one is down on the mattress (Narisa so nice trying to help devon up)

And Ray trying to push Devon back to the ground again!!

The 3 mothers soon grew tired cos we took at least 50 shots each and there is always something imperfect abt the pictures....sigh..maybe imperfection is the new PERFECT!!

First MRT ride as a family

Finally...after a long long wait, the mrt just 3 mins away from our house has opened. So the 3 of us decided to take the train to the nearby shopping mall for our breakfast today.

With this new mrt, i can now shorten my walk to the mrt by 8 mins!! Thats alot of time saved!! And that means i get 16 more mins a day to spend with Ray!! WOW!!

Ray is no stranger to mrt.....cos he has been on it several times but each time is like a brand new experience to him as he stare at everything in awe.

Take That!!

We have big plan for today and that is to go swimming but before we can reach the destination, it began pouring. So we decided to move our activities indoor and ventured off to the changi airport terminal 3 to watch the airplanes.

Here's ray showing off his pearlies....8 of them now, 4 upper and 4 lower. Some of them half sprouting but i tell you....it hurts when he bites!!

We grew tired of watching the planes and the rain has cleared as well so pa pa mui decided to take us to Changi Beach Club to have a look at the wooden slits that he was raving abt.

The boys are enjoying the sea breeze and see how happy they are..lalallaalla...

And pa pa mui decided to plant a kiss on Ray.....just lke he always does.

But Ray reacted funnie this time...hahahhaa....as he shoved pa pa mui away!!

10 months 2 weeks (24th Feb)

"Bye Bye, Ray!! Wave bye bye!!" This has been going on for abt a few weeks well... in fact months and finally our effort has beginning to reap return. Ray can now wave goodbye but of cos subject to his mood.

Initially, we were always waving ourselves crazy trying to illustrate to Ray what BYE BYE is and now he has finally learnt the true meaning. It is indeed an important milestone for all of us.

Next up...sending flying kisses!!

17 February 2009

10 month 1 week (17th Feb)

This morning as i was wearing my shoes getting ready for work when Ray started to crawl on his fours towards me...slowly but steadily.

Ray has been doing the leopard crawl since he was 8 months old plus. He started out like a praying mantis ie moving front and back on his fours but not moving an inch at all, i guess he just is taking his time, trying to steady his every move.

In no time, i bet Ray will be all over our house....with ma ma mui screaming at his every move!!

12 February 2009

A Nice Visit From Devon

Since i have started to work the shorter hours, i can also plan my work hours. Thus i decided to take 2 hrs off work today to catch up with my pal Evon and her son Devon. We went to Jurong Point for a nice lunch but retreated back to home cos...when u have 2 babies in toll, home is still the best!!

Here's Devon trying out the walker for the first time, i must say he is definitely enjoying the new freedom.

And this 2 guys spent some good time rolling and tossing in bed, trying to out do each other with their motor skills. Just look at Devon, atempting a sommersault at his young age.

07 February 2009

First Visit To The Beach

The sea, the sand and the sun (well almost).....all the 3 S!! This is the first time that Ray is being brought to the beach. It wasn't the best day to be at the beach as u can see the dark clouds gathering at the back of the picture. However, that means we can have more fun w/o the scorching sun.

But we can all see that Ray is not quite used to the texture of sand. But he was totally amazed at the waves that were hitting the beach.

4th Feb 2009 - 10th Month

Its official...ma ma mui is now working 9am to 2pm w.e.f 2th Feb 2009, 5 days a week in order to spend more time with Ray. The decision came easy, especially with the support of pa pa mui (who will from now on, support my shopping spree) and the special arrangement with my company.

I am always motivated to rush home, knowing that Ray will be waiting for me at home. And the fact that i can always buy him snacks and enjoy it together...the bonding with him just grow stronger everyday.

Ray's Make Over

Lately, we have been doing housekeeping of all the pics of Ray and we realised we have not posted of his make up in Sept 08. I dont know if Ray had fun but we as parents, definitely did.

The photographer was absolutely besotted by Ray....he said Ray is such a smiley baby and it was easy to get pics of him smiling....that i certainly agreed....smiley baby.

And of cos, how can Ray missed out on the classic post of all babies.....
