Another piece of furniture

Ray has grew, not just in term of physical but also mentally. He no longer wants to stay in that blue mesh rocker that we bought him. These days he wants to sit up straight so that he can see the world.

So....we bought him a seat/ rocker/ high chair with adjustable height. At first, he seems uncomfortable abt it afterall it is something new that he has never seen it before. And he has this tense look (as always) but after a while when he warm up to it....

So now everywhere we go, he can be with us and he seems like happy abt it. Even when we are doing housework!! This is a very good buy indeed.

And this week, Ray has also developed a sense of fear. When you hovered over him w/o him realising and when he turns around, he will jump. Thats something he didnt have a few weeks ago. And his favourite game for now is "Gonna Catch You" when one parent run with Ray in arms over the shoulder and he will "giggle" non stop. Ray is still not able to project his voice so on a good days, we get to hear his laughter which is really contagious and encouraging and it just wana make us do more funnie stuff with him.

When Will You Poo???

Ray has beginning to show signs....signs that he is able to digest the breastmilk that i have been giving him ie....poo-ing on a almost weekly basis.

These days when i call my mom, the first question will be "Did he poo". "Nope" will always be the reply followed by "His fart SMELLS big time!!" That i must agreed cos i have been ambushed so many times by Ray when we are having his bath time. Just imagine, the full blow of the fart right into my face....deadly!!

It is nothing to worry abt but somehow we are so used to him poo-ing everyday so it gets quite disturbing to know that he didnt poo again today. My mum has restorted to encourage the poo action by making the cycling exercise with Ray's legs when she is changing the diaper and it only encourage more FART!!

And when we get lucky when he poo, we will all be very happy and will throw Ray words of encouragement as if he understand the meaning of poo and how it makes us happy!! hahahaha....and when we are very very lucky, we get 2 poos a day!! Awesome!!

Drool Baby - 3 month 1 Week 5 Days

Ray has reached the milestone where he starts to drool and i went to check the web and it said that - reason why babies drool so much around 3 months onward is because it helps them grow and develop. This seems unbelievable, but it is true. Stomach acid is neutralized by the saliva, the babys intestinal lining is further developed from all that drool, and heals the esophageal lining that may become very irritated from spitting up regularly. In addition, drool has special enzymes that will help your baby begin to digest solid food when he starts eating it around four to six months of age. And it is also when the tooth begins traveling through the gum it catalyzes saliva production, which in turn means your baby starts to drool!

And every time Ray drools, i have this picture of a crab bubbling from its mouth in my mind.

3rd Swim

We brought Ray for his 3rd swimming lesson, after a long 1 month gap. Plain laziness? No...its just that u need to have the perfect conditions i.e sufficient nap, fed but not too much. We have been going to Vivo almost every weekends and it was today that we thought we had all the conditions right....

But Ray dozed off when he hit the water and we have to tug at him to wake him up.

And he has grew quite a far bit since his last swim and his legs were actually kicking the sides of the tub. I think Ray might just need ready for the real thing - swimming pool.

Be Be Pod!!

Sitting training getting more intense now. Pa pa mui took out the Be Be Pod seat to help Ray to get into the right sitting posture. Errr...except that the seat was abit squeezy for Ray...haahhaa. And look at the very tensed up look of Ray.

The minute i let go....he went lop sided but he was quick enough to use his arm to support himself.

And of cos, to pose for the camera even when he is training hard to sit up. I must say he has great improvements now. So what they said abt Practice makes perfect is so true.

Weekends

We are pretty laid back when it comes to the weekend. Cos Ray is still young and its useless if we bring him to places like the zoo or bird park. So we are usually at a coffee joint or at the kids department store looking for bargain and gadgets. Or we will be going to friends or family gatherings.

Here's us lazing out at TCC Bugis.

And it was at TCC Bugis where we caught Ray sucking perfectly on his thumb for the first time. He has been fumbling with his hand and now he finally got it.

We are not giving him the pacifier cos we feel that if Ray cries and he need to calm himself down, it is best that he figure it out himself rather then having us push the pacifier into his mouth. We have seen parents who pushed the pacifier into the baby's mouth the moment he/ she wail.

A baby cries for alot of reason, it is best to figure out why first before you do anything.

2nd Week At Work

Slowly catching up at work now. Been diligently expressing milk at work twice a day so that Ray gets to drink fresh supply for the next day. Luckily i have a 'milking' buddy at work so both of us will sit down together and 'milk' urselves.

My mom has been taking care of Ray and i will call her everyday to get updates. But most of the time when i called, Ray would be sleeping. U know the old people has this saying, sleeping is better than eating tonic. This i must agree cos baby's brain actually develops when they are sleeping.

And Ray sleeps, its the best time to do 'housekeeping'. Here is a pic of his ear wax and it actually protects the canal. Earwax contains chemicals that fight off infections that could hurt the skin inside the ear canal. It also collects dirt to help keep the ear canal clean. So earwax isn't just gross. It's gross and useful. Ears are actually able to self clean themselves as they will push the ear wax out.

This ear wax was collected when it was pushed outside. Never ever push anything inside the baby's ear not even cotton bud, u never know when he is going to move. Now you learn another new thing today.
