First Taste at Cereal

Ray is about 5 month 2 weeks and we decided its time for him to start weaning. I have read different school of thoughts like exclusively breastfeeding till 6 months then wean the baby off or start weaning at 4 month. Arrrggghh.....so we meet half way ie 5 month 2 week, well almost there lah hor. And besides, i am having a hard time keeping up with Ray's demand, i mean rather than to let him go hungry, i might as well introduce a meal of solid food just to tide his growing spurts period through.

We have selected rice cereal for him, just plain w/o additional flavouring.

Ray is looking very anxious to try out what is in his bowl.

Although looking enthusiastic abt the new stuff, he was rather reluctant to sip it in. It will take a while before he can actually sip it in as he is using a different of muscle to do the sipping. And bsides, it will take at least 10 tries before Ray will take a liking to the cereal, that is accordingly to the books.

To prove that just how reluctant he is, he fell asleep half way through the feeding and we only managed 2 small mouthfuls. And he aint faking it!! Hahaha.

I can't help it!!

I was going through the pictures when i saw this series of pictures that i took for pa pa mui and Ray.

PS: pa pa mui is NOT naked!!

Fatherhood has changed pa pa mui, for better of cos. Everyday he ferries Ray to and fro my mom's place, fighting the morning traffic, cursing and swearing but alway maintaining a cheery tone so that Ray wouldnt know that he is actually swearing.

He still drives down to my office every now and then to pick me up from work and then back to the west to pick Ray up and that is not the end of his day.

He will always let me have my hot bath first to wind down so that i can totally relax and then he will wash the bottles from the day while chatting to Ray. And best part is, he will shower Ray as well so practically i am left with nothing to do at the end of the day.

Thanks pa pa mui, for the unsung things that you have done for both me and Ray.

Toes Toes Where Are U

Ray has finally reached the milestone where he will reach for this feet and pulled them to his mouth, well...almost there although his milk belly is giving him some problem there. There is an old wives' tale sayin that if the baby starts to pull his feet, the mother will have to be careful as she is very likely to get pregnant at this time.....hmm....myth i supposed.

And he also loves to clap his feet. And these days its so hard to change his diaper as he will turn at every opportunity at ligtning speed. We dare not leave our eyes off him for just mere second. Changing diaper is really tough as i will be huffing and puffing and screaming at pa pa mui to hold Ray down so that we can get his diaper change....

This is the time....for tag team.

Cot Break

Ray is really good at his tummy time now. In fact, we are getting worry as we saw him doing his "Cot Break" and decided that it was high time that we lower the bed bebfore anything happens.

Here's Ray trying to see if he can pry the cot open...kidding, he is just accessing the situtation on whether or not he should do it.

On the count of 3 sec....

He didnt manage to turn himself over the pillow that used to "lock" him into position ie called positioner. But i guess it is just a matter of time before he can so why leave things to chance and beside he is 5 month already!! Can u belive it...time really passes by when u are having fun.

First Tourist Attraction

Armed with two FREE Singapore Flyer tickets, we decided to take Ray to ride out the Singapore Flyer together for the first time.

We were all very excited, or rather the parents ie me and pa pa mui were both very excited cos we are taking the ride for the 1st time and we are expecting Ray to be enjoying it as much as we should.

Here's me and Ray looking at the F1 race track which will be right into action come Sept becos of the first ever night F1 race and its in Singapore!! Yeah Yeah!!

And no outing is complete w/o a family potrait.....

And we continued to watch the scenary and thats when it started drizzing and Ray fell asleep through the entire ride....talking abt his first tourist attraction.

Ask me if i enjoy the ride? I think Ray has provided the answer.....

1 Month Of Be Be Pod

Well well....Ray has been sitting in the Be Be Pod for almost a month now. Time to show off what he can do now....ta da....

And looking every bit like a Towkay (boss).

Now he is able to sit in that chair without support from either one of us and he can spend quite some time jus sitting there, glazing slowly at the Be Be Pod. Sometimes i wonder what is so amazing abt that chair that captures his attention.

Monthly Immunisation

Ray is already 4 month 1 week now and we took him for his immunisation at the polyclinic. As usual, we are very anxious to find out just how much he weighs now. It is a bit of strain to carry him now, and i have to advise anyone who wants to carry him to practise first before attempting, trust me.

He is now 64cm and 8.5kg....another 1.5kg to go and he will be weighing like a sack of rice!! No wonder we feel the strain. Strange enough, he didnt cry when he was being jab this time round but he did suffer a wee bit of fever and swellness at the jab point. And he was his usual smiley self nevertheless.

Now i understand when pple used to tell me that the worry of having children is never ending....from the pregnancy to the growing up process...the worry just goes on and on.....
