Another piece of furniture

Ray has grew, not just in term of physical but also mentally. He no longer wants to stay in that blue mesh rocker that we bought him. These days he wants to sit up straight so that he can see the world.

So....we bought him a seat/ rocker/ high chair with adjustable height. At first, he seems uncomfortable abt it afterall it is something new that he has never seen it before. And he has this tense look (as always) but after a while when he warm up to it....

So now everywhere we go, he can be with us and he seems like happy abt it. Even when we are doing housework!! This is a very good buy indeed.

And this week, Ray has also developed a sense of fear. When you hovered over him w/o him realising and when he turns around, he will jump. Thats something he didnt have a few weeks ago. And his favourite game for now is "Gonna Catch You" when one parent run with Ray in arms over the shoulder and he will "giggle" non stop. Ray is still not able to project his voice so on a good days, we get to hear his laughter which is really contagious and encouraging and it just wana make us do more funnie stuff with him.

When Will You Poo???

Ray has beginning to show signs....signs that he is able to digest the breastmilk that i have been giving him ie....poo-ing on a almost weekly basis.

These days when i call my mom, the first question will be "Did he poo". "Nope" will always be the reply followed by "His fart SMELLS big time!!" That i must agreed cos i have been ambushed so many times by Ray when we are having his bath time. Just imagine, the full blow of the fart right into my face....deadly!!

It is nothing to worry abt but somehow we are so used to him poo-ing everyday so it gets quite disturbing to know that he didnt poo again today. My mum has restorted to encourage the poo action by making the cycling exercise with Ray's legs when she is changing the diaper and it only encourage more FART!!

And when we get lucky when he poo, we will all be very happy and will throw Ray words of encouragement as if he understand the meaning of poo and how it makes us happy!! hahahaha....and when we are very very lucky, we get 2 poos a day!! Awesome!!

Drool Baby - 3 month 1 Week 5 Days

Ray has reached the milestone where he starts to drool and i went to check the web and it said that - reason why babies drool so much around 3 months onward is because it helps them grow and develop. This seems unbelievable, but it is true. Stomach acid is neutralized by the saliva, the babys intestinal lining is further developed from all that drool, and heals the esophageal lining that may become very irritated from spitting up regularly. In addition, drool has special enzymes that will help your baby begin to digest solid food when he starts eating it around four to six months of age. And it is also when the tooth begins traveling through the gum it catalyzes saliva production, which in turn means your baby starts to drool!

And every time Ray drools, i have this picture of a crab bubbling from its mouth in my mind.

3rd Swim

We brought Ray for his 3rd swimming lesson, after a long 1 month gap. Plain laziness? No...its just that u need to have the perfect conditions i.e sufficient nap, fed but not too much. We have been going to Vivo almost every weekends and it was today that we thought we had all the conditions right....

But Ray dozed off when he hit the water and we have to tug at him to wake him up.

And he has grew quite a far bit since his last swim and his legs were actually kicking the sides of the tub. I think Ray might just need ready for the real thing - swimming pool.

Be Be Pod!!

Sitting training getting more intense now. Pa pa mui took out the Be Be Pod seat to help Ray to get into the right sitting posture. Errr...except that the seat was abit squeezy for Ray...haahhaa. And look at the very tensed up look of Ray.

The minute i let go....he went lop sided but he was quick enough to use his arm to support himself.

And of cos, to pose for the camera even when he is training hard to sit up. I must say he has great improvements now. So what they said abt Practice makes perfect is so true.

Weekends

We are pretty laid back when it comes to the weekend. Cos Ray is still young and its useless if we bring him to places like the zoo or bird park. So we are usually at a coffee joint or at the kids department store looking for bargain and gadgets. Or we will be going to friends or family gatherings.

Here's us lazing out at TCC Bugis.

And it was at TCC Bugis where we caught Ray sucking perfectly on his thumb for the first time. He has been fumbling with his hand and now he finally got it.

We are not giving him the pacifier cos we feel that if Ray cries and he need to calm himself down, it is best that he figure it out himself rather then having us push the pacifier into his mouth. We have seen parents who pushed the pacifier into the baby's mouth the moment he/ she wail.

A baby cries for alot of reason, it is best to figure out why first before you do anything.

2nd Week At Work

Slowly catching up at work now. Been diligently expressing milk at work twice a day so that Ray gets to drink fresh supply for the next day. Luckily i have a 'milking' buddy at work so both of us will sit down together and 'milk' urselves.

My mom has been taking care of Ray and i will call her everyday to get updates. But most of the time when i called, Ray would be sleeping. U know the old people has this saying, sleeping is better than eating tonic. This i must agree cos baby's brain actually develops when they are sleeping.

And Ray sleeps, its the best time to do 'housekeeping'. Here is a pic of his ear wax and it actually protects the canal. Earwax contains chemicals that fight off infections that could hurt the skin inside the ear canal. It also collects dirt to help keep the ear canal clean. So earwax isn't just gross. It's gross and useful. Ears are actually able to self clean themselves as they will push the ear wax out.

This ear wax was collected when it was pushed outside. Never ever push anything inside the baby's ear not even cotton bud, u never know when he is going to move. Now you learn another new thing today.

Training To Sit

After being told that Ray needs help to practice to sit up, we have been doing so almost every night. And Ray seems to enjoy the new found idea of being able to sit up and look at more things. But....the only thing that is getting in the way is his tummy. Sigh...there is no way he is going to lose it any time now so he will have to bear with it....just like how i managed with my preggie body then.

No pain no gain right? But from the look of it, he is enjoying every seconds of it. That is until i put him next to me and we fell asleep almost instantly.....

Guess more practice will have to wait....tomorrow.

Day After The Jab

Phew...Ray didnt get fever from the jab and he was behaving well just like any other normal days. So we decided to go shopping and buy him something to hang on his pram. Read: ITS NOT A REWARD. You see, a pram is just a pram unless u add stuff on it then it becomes a learning centre for him to explore and to see (i know...bullsh*t right?). Anyway we saw this and couldnt resist and pa pa mui hang it up immediately after we paid for it.

This hanging mobile is really good...it produces such nice therapeutic chime like sound even i feel like dozing off when i heard it. Hopefully from now on, the hanging mobile will keep Ray entertain whilst he is in his pram.

3 Months 2 Days - Karaoke Session

Took the day off to bring Ray to the doc to get his vaccination. We were told that some babies had fever after taking the vaccination and we are not going to let Ray go through this alone if he really has an fever so both of us took the day off and went with him.

Weight - 7.5kg, Height - 61cm. Ray has grew from his newborn weight of 3kg and height of 47cm. As usual, Ray cried when the nurse injected the needle into this THUNDER thigh but within a minute he will simmer down. The doctor said that Ray's neck is still lag (as in wobble) when he sits up but his neck is fine when we hold him standing so it could be a weight/ size issue that caused him so. No cause for alarm and the doc will review him next month again.

For the past 2 weeks, we have seen significant changes in Ray. He has learnt to smile to people, to turn his head left and right and to grasp object. And he has also pick up singing....and he loves to sing with me. And of cos, his favourite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

First Week At Work

Woke up at 6am, expressed the mil and fed Ray. Everything went according to plan and Ray and pa pa mui were out of the house by 6.50am. A call to my mom was made to fetch Ray when pa pa mui arrived. Fantastic....took a nice shower without having to worry that Ray will scream anytime. Took time to put on my make up and pack the stuff required to express the milk in the office.

7.45am, i was already out of the house looking not too bad. Walked to the mrt station and took the ride in the mrt during the morning rush hours. Took a book out to read but fell asleep after 2 pages.

Survivied through the morning, expressed milk at 11.45am. Off to lunch and came back to office and slough through.....4pm, another milking session and i am so counting down to 6pm. Where i will rush home to pick up Ray from my mom's. My mom has been doing good....and usually i am the one calling to check on Ray. However, the calls has reduced now from the first day 6 calls to now 2 calls.

This is a typical everyday of my Mom's, Wife, Housewife, and a Working Mom's life. Am i complaining? Not really, in fact it feels good to be back at work again.

Weekends - Sun

I have been buying rompers for Ray lately and i came across this sleeveless romper that i knew i had to buy. At least it is different from the 99 pcs of rompers that he has. And when i dressed him in it, he just has this very hip hop/ rapper vibe and i suggested to pa pa mui that we accessorise him. We couldnt find any bling so we decided GOLD will suffice. I mean way before there was bling, it was huge chunk of gold to represent Hip Hop/ Rap.

Couldnt control myself as i was laughing away from the photo sessions. I mean pa pa mui was trying to create the hip hop/rap ambience in the pictures but Ray had all these funnie faces going on.

Hip Hop!! Hip Hop!! Suddenly i have this image of MC hammer in my head. (Can't touch this)

Weekends - Sat

I am going back to work soon and this is the last weekends that the three of us will get to enjoy the weekends completely. I dont know how the weekends after i start work will be but i know time will never be on my side. So...here's us lazing around in bed....

I thought i am the tired one but the both of them actually fell asleep in this picture here and they maintained in that position for 20mins.

And us pigging out at Coffee Bean....

I think Ray has knew what food is cos he was actually trying to snatch the bread from my hand....well, maybe not. He only knows milk...and only breastmilk.

I guess he is just curious abt what i am holding in my hands.

Pretend Got Serious

Last night, we decided that the routine of "dropping" off Ray to his grandma's place should get real and we have agreed that we will leave the house at 6.50am today.

But....with a baby, everything is only good when it comes to planning. Nothing is fulfill until you have actually executed it. You see...we didnt leave the house at 6.50am. Ok ok...pa pa mui did. He left the house whilst Ray and I was still in bed. You see, what happened was Ray woke up at 3am for a unexpected feed. He usually sleeps through the night from 10pm to 6am but this morning he decided that routine was NO good. Sigh....okok, i know its BAD BAD of me to blame the baby for not being able to wake up. But i was just too exhausted to get out of bed.

However, we managed to get Ray out of the house at 12.10pm, at least half a day is better than nothing. Here's Ray, playing dress up as a Towkay. He is now known as the small boss of his grandma.

01 July 2008

ZzzZzz....

Today, i went out with Ray all by myself. We didnt take pram so i carried him in a sling and took a bus and a mrt ride to Bugis to meet my girlfrd.

Ray was really curious on the mrt ride as he refused to be strapped to the sling. In the end, i have to hold him standing through the whole 40mins ride while he soaked in all the things he has not seen before.

He even stared at the lady seated next to us for a long long time. However, the lady was sleeping away so Ray didnt get to impress her with his smile.

And we hang out at Mio's place for half a day. She has delivered Nerisa, a very japanese looking baby gal who has a head of BLACK BLACK hair!!

By the time we reached home, Ray was tired out and i didnt even need to hold him and he just fell asleep on our bed.
